For your website to rank well in Google, it is important for Google to detect a natural pattern of backlinks to your website. If Google detects an unnatural pattern of links, they may demote your website in their search rankings, or worse, they may drop your website from their database altogether. There are two types of links on the internet: "follow" and "nofollow." If links are set to "follow," search engine robots that index websites will follow the links to other websites and index those websites too. Google will also count "follow" links as part of your link juice. In general, the more link juice you have, the more it will help your website rank higher in Google. If links are set to "no follow," the search engine robots will not follow these links and you will get no link juice from those links. Some people will try to build "follow" links and avoid "no follow" links because "no follow" links don't add link juice. However, if Google detects an unnatural balance between your "follow" links and your "nofollow" links, your Google rankings will be negatively impacted. By building YouTube backlinks to your website, you will establish high quality "no follow" links to balance out your "follow" links.
